Incan Mythology

Inti is the Sun god, as well as a patron deity of the Inca Empire. His exact origin is unknown; the most common story says that he is the son of Viracocha, god of the Staffs, the creator god of civilization.

The Sun is an important factor in life, as it provides warmth and light, which is why the god Inti is also known as the giver of life. He was worshiped by most farmers who relied on him to receive abundant harvests.
